Deniz Nikolov, a 23-year-old from Crawley, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He appeared at Carlisle Crown Court on October 12.

A man has been jailed for three years and six months for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Deniz Nikolov, 23, of Denchers Plat, Crawley, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday (12 October).

Nikolov was stopped by officers while driving in Low Row, Brampton, on 2 September 2026 and was subsequently arrested. During a search of the vehicle, drugs dog PD Milo indicated to officers that controlled drugs may be present within the front of the car. Following this indication, Tactical Support Group officers located 150 individually sealed one-gram snap bags containing white powder concealed behind the vehicle's CD player. Officers also carried out a search of a hotel in Carlisle at which Nikolov was staying, recovering a further seven one-gram snap bags containing white powder. Testing confirmed the substance was cocaine, with an estimated street value of £12,560. Detective Constable, James Bowness, said: "The supply of illegal drugs causes significant harm to our communities and fuels wider criminality. "This sentence demonstrates our commitment to targeting those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and bringing offenders before the courts. "We remain committed to disrupting the supply of illegal drugs and protecting our communities from the harm they cause."

Reported for Carlisle based on a statement from Cumbria Police.
